As I begin my third year as Superintendent, I remain proud to lead a district grounded in a shared promise:
We promise to provide a safe, supportive environment where every student feels valued and empowered to discover their strengths, build resilience, and develop the knowledge, character, and confidence to thrive in their future.
That promise is at the heart of our work, and we know students are most successful when schools and families work together. Your partnership makes a meaningful difference. A few ways you can support your student throughout the year include:
- Set the tone by reinforcing academic, attendance, and behavior expectations at home.
- Communicate directly with teachers, counselors, coaches, and school staff when you have questions or concerns. School principals are always available to support when needed.
- Stay informed through ParentSquare and communications from your child’s school.
- Foster independence by helping your student build self-advocacy, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Reach out early when challenges arise so we can work together to find solutions.
- Attend school events, performances, conferences, and other opportunities to be part of your student’s school experience.
- Consider participating in a school or district advisory committee. Your perspective and voice are valuable to us.
As we open our doors for another year of learning, growth, discovery, and opportunity, thank you for the trust you place in PRJUSD and for the many ways you support our schools.
We can’t wait to welcome our students back tomorrow. Here’s to an exceptional 2026–27 school year!
Warm regards,
Jennifer Loftus
