Kermit King Weekly Updates
Dear Kermit King Families,
We had a wonderful first two days of school here at Kermit King. I am so proud of our fabulous frogs! Students have been actively engaging in collaborative activities, which allow them to work together for common goals, accomplish challenges, and learn about each other.
Students participated in PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports) Expectation Rotations on Friday. Teaching, practicing, and reteaching expected behaviors is essential to setting all students up for success. Classes went to common areas around campus to learn or review the expected behaviors, including the playground, lunch tables, MPR/Cafeteria, and line-up areas. Our frogs have done a fantastic job showing us all what LEAPstars they are!
School Spirit Days: Mondays will continue to be recognized as our School Spirit Day, during which students and staff are encouraged to wear green to show their school pride. Fridays will be Paso Robles Spirit Day. On this day, students and staff are invited to wear crimson and Paso Robles apparel or KK green to showcase their school spirit.
We appreciate your participation in fostering a sense of community and school pride. Thank you for supporting our Spirit Days!
Parent Coffee Hour: Our first Parent Coffee Hour of the Year is this Thursday, September 3rd. This will be an informal time for me to meet with you and engage in collaborative conversations about current events at Kermit King. We will begin signing parents into Verkada (the campus visitor system) at 8:05 and begin at 8:15 in the MPR. The Kermit King PTA will have a table with our spirit wear available for purchase! We have a variety of cute items in multiple sizes for you to choose from!

Parent Volunteers: Volunteers must complete a Volunteer Packet each year; new volunteers must be fingerprinted for field trips. The fingerprinting process will take a few weeks. Once you complete the fingerprinting process, you will not have to repeat it.
If you plan to volunteer and/or accompany your student on field trips, I encourage you to complete the process now so you are cleared. Please contact our office for the volunteer packet and details.
Celebrating Our Brand-New Play Structure: Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony This Thursday!
We are thrilled to invite our entire school community to a special Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony this Thursday, August 20st at 2:30 p.m. as we officially open our brand-new facility addition!
This project has been a labor of love for our school, and we can’t wait to gather together to celebrate this exciting new chapter. It’s going to be a fun event filled with school pride, and we would love nothing more than to see all of our families there to share in the joy. Mark your calendars, bring your school spirit, and join us as we cut the ribbon on this incredible new space for our students!
Attendance Notifications - EDIA: Starting this year, PRJUSD will be using a program called EDIA for attendance messaging. When your student is absent, you will get a text message from EDIA asking you why your student is out (If you didn't call in before). You can simply text back, and the program will correct the attendance in Aeries.
Just a reminder, you have 72 hours to clear an absence, or your student will be marked as truant.
Student Pick Up: When picking up your student from the main office, please follow these guidelines:
All authorized pick-up persons must be listed in Aeries in advance. Only individuals on the student's authorized contact list who are 18 years or older will be permitted to pick up students.
Parents: Always bring a valid photo ID when checking out your student.
-
If someone other than a parent is picking up the student:
Ensure they are already listed in Aeries before they arrive.
The parent must provide written authorization (text message, email, or physical note) to the office.
The designated person must bring their valid photo ID.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.
